Ridges at Sand Creek Wedding

Emily and Adam are a completely down-to-Earth, sweet couple I had the privilege of working with!  They planned an awesome, fun, family party and had around 450 people show up for the big event!  Emily did a beautiful job adding a lot of her own personal touches throughout the wedding and reception.  I wish I had photos of everything, but here are a few pics of the reception site.  The people at Ridges at Sand Creek (in Jordan) were really helpful and nice to work with.  It's a beautiful golf course venue with lots of windows and the fall colors of the trees really added to her whole fall feel.  She had an orange, purple, and black theme, so the majority of the flowers were orange gerbs.  We also had some orange roses and a few white hydrangea, but the majority of the flowers were bright, fun orange gerbs.

Emily's centerpieces were black table runners, mirrors, votives, and then an orange mini-gerb inside a cylinder vase with clear stones and an LED light in the stones.  In keeping with the black and orange theme, she added a black bow to the centerpieces.

You can see her DIY touches in the bride and groom signs.  I added some orange spray roses to the head table, just to add a little more of the orange.  They added the bouquets when they got to the reception.

We added some floating candles as well to add a little extra candlelight to the head table.

My favorite table was the photo table, which included parents and grandparents' wedding photos.  A floral arrangement from the church was later added behind the photos.

Little Log Home Pioneer Village Wedding

Heather and Zack have been family friends for a while now and it was really a fun honor to be able to work with them on their wedding flowers.  Heather came in with a photo of orange and red gerbs and roses and we just expanded off of that for her "theme".  We kept it feeling very "autumn" and stayed within the red and orange color scheme.

Here's a little peek of the reception site and the flowers we did there.  The Little Log Home Pioneer Village in Hastings was all warm woods and really did have a log cabin feel to it.  They had a really fun party atmosphere and when I came back for take down, the party was still going strong!

They had three different centerpieces.  The large one was a tall cylinder vase with orange and red mokara orchids and curly willow.  We had black accents and used red and orange votives on the tables to keep that warm home-y feeling.

Another centerpiece was the "red" table, with a floating red gerb and light, as well as red votives.

Then there was the "orange" table that had three cylinder vases with orange mokaras in one, greens in one, and seeded eucalyptus in the other.  Then we added the orange votives.

Here's the head table and you can get a little sample of the flowers. The toss bouquet shows a little bit of what the actual bouquets looked like.

Royal Cliff Wedding

Katie came in with tons of enthusiasm about her wedding and I soooo enjoyed working with her!  She had an awesome family themed wedding that was so warm and inviting.  There were lots of family photos, lanterns on every table, and lots of soft pinks.  She had her ceremony at the Richfield Lutheran Church and the reception was at Royal Cliff in Eagan.  I love working with Royal Cliff - great people and awesome food!

I didn't have any photos of the bouquets, but here's a sneak peek of some photos before the pro ones come in...

The decor was a family effort - Katie's mom made the table squares in silver and wine colors and Katie had wedding photos of family members at each table.  Then there were black lanterns, a mason jar of river rocks and flowers, as well as some rose accents around the lanterns and photos. 

Katie's mom also made table runners for the cake table and head table - amazing to me, since I can't sew anything!!  For the cake table, we added petals and silver mercury glass votives.

The head table had mercury glass votives as well.  When the wedding party got there, they added the rest of the bouquets to the table to add to the decor of the head table.  We also added a petals and some bud vases with pink stock.

Katie added some more awesome DIY touches to the guestbook table as people entered.  There was a fun chalkboard menu, a container of homemade brownie pops and some candy kisses.  We just added a few floating candles in mason jars and some bud vases with flowers.

Congratulations Katie and Geoff!!  I felt like part of the family working with you - thanks for including me!  

Calhoun Beach Club Wedding

Ally and Jason had a beautiful sunny day for their purple and ivory wedding at the Calhoun Beach Club.  They had both their wedding ceremony and reception all in the same room - which was absolutely beautiful!  Ally had some great ideas and inspirations for what she wanted the room to look like and I think together we really came up with the modern elegance she was looking for.  I really loved the final product....and I loved being able to work with Ally throughout the process.

Here's the bridal bouquet - just purple stock, lisianthus, and Picasso mini-callas.

 It had a dark purple wrap with crystal pins.  On the head table, we added some bud vases of white orchids, white rose petals, and mercury glass silver votives.



The bridesmaids' bouquets were purple stock and lisianthus with white hydrangea and stock.

Here's the room set up for the ceremony - beautiful room and chandeliers!  Windows all along the side and mirrors all along the wall.  The lighting in there was just beautiful.  The only decoration from us for the ceremony were the huge six foot tall arrangements in the white planters at the front of the aisle.  Ally found the white planters, which were perfect. 

These were curly willow, glads in purple and white, larkspur in purple and white, and dendrobium orchids wrapped in the branches.

When we "flipped" the room after the ceremony, we moved the large arrangements to the sides of the grand staircase.  Always re-purpose ceremony flowers at your reception to add to the decor and save a little money.

We had made up the arrangements prior to the flip and put them along the windows to have them done in advance, as well as add to the look of the room.  Then we switched them all to tables while the guests were at the cocktail hour.

 They were a tall vase of purple hydrangea, medium of dendrobium orchids and lily grass, and a smaller one of purple larkspur and a floating candle.  When on the tables, we added three more vases with floating candles and then votive candles outside of that.  It was soooo beautiful having all of that candlelight at the end of the evening!

Bud vases of white dendrobium orchids were placed around the venue - here at the guest book table, cocktail tables, etc.  All the vases had a little bit of bling ribbon around the base to add some sparkle.

The cake we just did some purple lisianthus, white dendrobium heads, lavender freesia, and white hydrangea on the top.  Mercury glass votives around the base with orchid head accents.

Prestwick Golf Course Wedding

We recently were privileged to do the flowers for the wedding of Katie and Jason at the Prestwick Golf Course and Woodbury Lutheran Church.  The theme of the day for me was "warmth".  I felt warmth from Katie and Jason the moment I met them and it carried through in their choices of church and reception venues.  Both places were warm and welcoming just like them.  Katie was a joy to be around and was never without a smile on her face. They chose lapis colored bridesmaid's dresses and we focused on a yellow, green and ivory for the flowers.  Here are some of my photos...can't wait to see the professional ones!

Here is a close up of the bridal bouquet - it's a mix of light green mini-hydrangea, white hydrangea, white and yellow stock, yellow mums, yellow freesia, white, ivory, and yellow roses, buplerum, and variegated pittosporum.

The bridesmaid's bouquets had a white wrap and had more white in the bouquets than the bride.  Also, they were a bit smaller.

For the ceremony, we just did some hydrangea on every-other pew along the aisle and one arrangement up in the altar area with a mix of the same flowers in the bouquet, as well as some yellow and white glads and snapdragons and a few more greens.

For the reception, Katie provided some awesome vases that we did most of the centerpieces in.  We made a mini-bouquet in each one with the same flowers as used in the bouquets, with the addition of some dahlias.  We added a touch of the lapis ribbon around the bouquets.

I loved Katie's idea of doing table "letters" instead of numbers.  

The other arrangement was a tall one of curly willow, white delphinium, and yellow stock.  We wrapped with a little sheer dark purple ribbon to add just a touch.

 Here you can get a sense of the whole room.  Loved the warm colors in combination with the yellows.

For the head table, we did yellow petals, votives, and a couple of bud vases with some yellow freesia.  The bride and bridesmaids added their bouquets in vases to the table later on.

For the cake table, they were having several different cakes, so we just added petals and votives.  We really wanted to steal the flourless chocolate cake, but we barely resisted!  :)

Katie had an awesome bird cage that she placed on the fireplace, which served as her gift table.  We added some buds to the bird cage, as well as some petals and the toss bouquet for a little extra decoration.

In both the reception room and the entryway, there were really beautiful fireplaces.  We added floating candles and rose heads to the mantles for a little extra decor.  Hopefully the photographer will have photos of all the candlelight.

On the other mantle, we added a little bud vase with some white roses and freesia.
