Katie and Dyer

It was such a pleasure to be a part of Katie and Dyer's wedding!  We have known Katie and her family since our girls were in elementary school together long ago...they continued on through high school and even college together!  We didn't know Dyer before the day of the wedding, but he was very warm and made us feel welcome instantly.  We were so happy to share in their happy day!  Even though the weather was a little bit on the rainy side, Katie's flower colors shined through to make it bright and sunny inside!  Katie chose to have a mango-orange and bright yellow theme. Her bridesmaid's dresses were yellow, so we focused mainly on the oranges with the flowers.  Katie came in with a definite plan for the majority of the flowers and hopefully we did them justice!  I can't wait to get some of the professional photos to share with everyone, but until then, I had a few photos that I wanted to put on the blog to share.  The ceremony was held at St. John The Baptist Church, in Savage, MN.  Father Tix and Tina are always great to work with!  The reception was held at The Wilds in Prior Lake, MN.  It's a lovely place for a reception and Shannon is awesome to work with in the planning stages.  The waitresses at the end of the evening helped us clear everything out of there - so a huge thank you to everyone at The Wilds...and thanks again to Katie and her family for letting us share their day :)

Here's a peek at the bridal bouquet before I put the wrap on it.  It was a combination of white mini-callas, white polar star roses, mango mini-callas, circus roses, bi-color orange and yellow parrot tulips, yellow french tulips, white wax flower, and variegated pittosporum.

Here are the bridesmaid's bouquets before the wraps were put on them.  We used circus roses, orange tulips,  yellow Sonrisa roses, mango mini-callas, bi-color yellow and orange parrot tulips, and variegated pittosporum.

Here is an example of one of the pew markers.  We had a circus rose, an orange Miracle rose, a yellow Sonrisa rose, some wax flower and some variegated pittosporum with a sheer orange ribbon hanging down.

Here is a look down the aisle. I'm definitely not the best photographer out there!  Hopefully you can at least get a little idea of the kissing balls in front of the altar and the aisle/pew marker flowers.

Here's a little bit closer photo of the kissing balls made with yellow and orange carnations...set on vases with clear stones and water.

Here's a look at one of the table decorations at the reception.  We did three varying heights of vases.  One with bright orange mokara orchids and clear stones, one with lily grass, a floating candle, and clear stones, as well as one with a yellow tulip, orange tulip, bi-color yellow and orange tulip, and clear stones.  We added some votives and rose petals.  Katie and her mom provided the bright orange and yellow tulle for the tables to use in the place of a table runner.  On the other half of the tables, we had a square vase filled with loads of orange, yellow, and bicolor tulips.

Thanks again, Katie and Dyer, for letting us share in your wonderful day! I'll add an update to the post when we get some of the professional photos.

The Beginning - Laura and Mark

I couldn't have asked for a better way to start things out!  Laura and Mark's wedding was elegant simplicity at it's best!  The fact that it was our daughter's and son-in-law's wedding, made it extremely special and perfect!!  We had a perfect day, weather-wise, fabulous family, wonderful vendors, a great venue, and fantastic people to make it all come together!!  Honestly, it couldn't have been better.

I want to thank our photographers, Kate and Sam Botwinski, for some fabulous photos that I'm going to include in this post.  They were sooooo easy going and great to work with the day of the wedding!  We feel like they are part of the family now (whether they like it or not!  ;)  Please check out Kate's blog and website to see some really really beautiful photos!  http://katebotwinskiblog.com/ and http://katebotwinskiphotography.com/

All of the photos below are photos by Kate Botwinski Photography...

Here are some photos of the bouquets.  We used all hydrangea in purple and ivory for the bouquets.  I loved the way they contrasted with the dresses.  Laura made a great decision in choosing simple bouquets and letting the dresses shine..

We did some light pink kissing balls for the flower girls with light pink ribbon.  These were made with mini-carnations.

Here is the groom's boutonniere.  I used a picasso mini-calla with some purple wax flower and green pittosporum.

For the ceremony, we kept it really simple with some ivory hydrangea hanging from purple ribbon on the pews, and then just filled some cylinder vases with clear stones and light green hydrangea with a little purple ribbon wrapped around the vase (on the sides of the altar)

The reception was held at Royal Cliff in Eagan.  Memory Makers Decor did a beautiful job on the linens - adding purple sheer table runners, chair covers and sashes, beautiful ceiling drapery and backdrop behind the head table.  The bride made some beautiful table number luminaries and we added varying height cylinder vases with hydrangea and purple ribbon on mirrors with votive candles to keep with the simple, elegant theme.

Shanna, the Maid of Honor, made the fabulous cake!  We just added some hydrangea and votives to help complete the look.

We added some touches of purple lisianthus in bud vases throughout the venue, just to add a pop of color.  The head table also had some white rose petals added among the votives and girls' bouquets.  A quick mention to thank the fabulous Maria of Ispiri Events!  She was Laura's Day of Coordinator and helped with everything from a broken bustle to keeping people on time to helping set up and take down decor.  She was invaluable!!

This was just a personal favorite of mine of the wedding party.

This is my favorite photo of the bride and groom.

I truly want to thank all of our vendors SO much!!!  They were the BEST!! I would highly recommend each and every one of them!  Please consider them for your special events!

Starting Up!

Hi Everyone!!!

Well...I've decided to bite the bullet and start a blog!  I never thought I would be doing it, but I am happy to have a way to share my projects with everyone.  I wanted to give everyone a peek into the wonderful world of flower arranging!  I can't tell you how excited I have been to start up a business doing something I absolutely LOVE to do!  Each wedding and event brings me joy!  Thanks to those of you who have placed your trust in me as I've been getting started - I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!  Thanks also to those of you who have supported me with your help in getting the business up and running, the workshop created, and assisted me in the chaos before the events!  :)  I love you all!!
